A moving mini Documentary

About a month ago, a friend of mine, Michael Blatter had asked me to film something for him. When I asked what, I had no idea that it would be a mini doc on a demonstration that was to take place in honor of a classmate, sixteen year old Paula Bohovesky, that had been raped and murdered over 30 years ago.

I wondered, "Why so many years later are they doing it now." It was then told to me that the young girls killers were about to be up for parole.

Michael introduced to me Dari J. Knight, who was heading the whole demonstration. The experience was an once in a life time thing. When I got to the scene the day of, the story of sixteen year old Paula really hit me. I think when I had interviewed the young girl's mother, Lois, her words are what really stuck. Even my crew said they were shaken up as well as all the people who told their sides of the story.

But in the end the community was moved by the piece that we had created, as was I by them.
I think it was Lois and her son Peter who really touched me with their strength to go through this in honor of Paula. It hit me so much, that I am thinking about doing a full documentary on them maybe some day. But for now look at the first finished piece below.

No, I don't play with dolls!!

Alright these figures below might look weird, BUT, I made them from scratch. Gearing up for a new stop-motion short. It might be a while...but most stop-motion is.

I have some ideas for the set, but I don't want to lock down on it just yet. I rather work with these new puppets for a music video hopefully in the near future. But only time can tell.

The story is still up in the air as of now. I have some ideas of what I want to do, however I'm thinking of other peoples inputs. Any ideas?!?! My ears are open to a cool story!!
